Principal Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop strategic roadmaps and desired outcomes for clients in a consultative role.

• Serve as a subject-matter expert in data engineering to outline future engagements with pre-sales teams.

• Conduct technical interviews for candidates applying for Architect and Engineer positions.

• Offer technical direction to Architects and Engineers.

• Supervise the development and execution of data standards and operational procedures.

• Lead the creation and implementation of sophisticated cloud-based data solutions for clients.

• Travel up to 25% as required by business needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the AWS data landscape.

• 10 years of experience in designing and constructing complex data systems.

• Proficiency in at least two traditional data domains: relational database design, optimization and migration; data modeling for transactional and analytical systems; BI dashboards and visualizations; data governance and Master Data Management (MDM).

• Familiarity with at least two emerging data areas: big data processing with Spark, streaming solutions, and NoSQL; machine learning and MLOps with expertise in SageMaker; foundational models of GenAI and related methodologies/frameworks with knowledge in Bedrock; DataOps practices including Infrastructure as Code, data testing, and data versioning.

• Experience with at least two of the following: Infrastructure as Code tools; CI/CD pipelines and tools; Python for analytics and automation.

• Strong commitment to standardizing and documenting approaches and solutions.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Must have current legal authorization to work in Mexico; Caylent is unable to sponsor visa or work permit applications.
