Principal Cloud Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Create zero-trust network solutions tailored for a hybrid on-premise and Azure environment.

• Facilitate the cloud deployment of enhanced network services.

• Design, implement, test, and transition network solutions.

• Develop modern, secure network solutions utilizing virtual switches, VPCs, and virtual firewalls.

• Contribute insights to enterprise cloud and mission architecture.

• Assess and support application architectures across various platforms.

• Discover opportunities to enhance user experience, boost efficiency, and reduce sustainment costs.

• Uphold security best practices and guidelines pertaining to network and data security.

• Assist in the digital modernization of the DoD environment, including the migration of applications and services from on-premise to the cloud.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

• Over 12 years of relevant experience is necessary.

• Proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP.

• Experience with virtual switches, VPCs, and virtual firewalls is essential.

• Familiarity with Identity Access Management (IDAM), AzureAD, and modern ICAM solutions such as CyberArk or Okta.

• Knowledge of Federal Government application, server, and network security standards, including NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMA.

• Capability to collaborate effectively within a distributed technical team, supported by strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Current IAT Level II (or higher) Certification, such as Security + or CISSP, is required.

• A recognized cloud certification, such as Microsoft Azure Associate Administrator, is preferred.

• Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence, is preferred.

• An active SECRET or higher DoD clearance is necessary.

• US Citizenship is required.
