Principal – Centralized Commercial Credit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Analyze intricate business loan applications and conduct independent credit assessments.

• Assess risk, devise credit solutions, and either recommend, approve, or reject credit applications.

• Oversee a designated portfolio through continuous monitoring, risk evaluation, portfolio analysis, development of credit solutions, and addressing emerging credit issues.

• Collaborate with Relationship Managers, sales teams, and credit leadership on business goals and complex credit situations.

• Ensure prompt completion of loan applications and portfolio management tasks.

• Offer subject matter expertise, guidance, and review support to junior credit professionals.

• Examine credit assessments, loan decisions, and provide approval concurrence when necessary.

• Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and required training.

• Remain updated on regulatory and credit-related changes.

• Execute additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree is mandatory; a suitable combination of education and experience may be taken into account.

• Generally requires 6–8+ years of previous experience, with a strong understanding of the job area.

• Proficiency in independent credit analysis of complex business loan applications.

• Evaluation of the borrower's financial status, management, operations, loan structure, and overall credit risk.

• Familiarity with credit evaluation, risk assessment, policy compliance, and portfolio monitoring.

• Capability to assess risk, formulate credit solutions, and recommend, approve, or decline credit applications in line with lending authority and credit policy.

• Understanding of applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Completion of required training and staying informed on regulatory and credit-related developments.
