Principal CAD Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable CAD workflows for synthesis, physical design, static timing analysis (STA), low-power verification, and final signoff.

• Propel automation and methodological enhancements to improve design efficiency, runtime, and quality of results (QoR).

• Collaborate with design, verification, DFT, and implementation teams to grasp flow requirements and address deployment challenges.

• Troubleshoot intricate flow, tool, and infrastructure-related issues during project execution.

• Integrate and validate new EDA tool releases along with advanced node methodologies.

• Create automation scripts, regression environments, dashboards, and flow monitoring systems.

• Partner with foundries and EDA vendors for technology enablement and issue resolutions.

• Guide engineers and establish CAD best practices throughout teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, VLSI, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of experience in CAD engineering, physical design methodologies, or EDA flow development.

• Deep expertise in ASIC/SOC implementation flows including synthesis, place and route (P&R), static timing analysis (STA), physical verification, and low-power methodologies.

• Practical experience with industry-standard EDA tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, and Siemens EDA tool suites.

• Proficient programming and scripting skills in Tcl, Python, Perl, and Shell scripting.

• Familiarity with distributed computing environments, regression frameworks, and infrastructure management.

• Strong debugging, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Good to Have: Experience with cloud-enabled EDA infrastructure and workload management systems.

• Good to Have: Exposure to AI/ML-driven CAD optimization techniques.

• Good to Have: Knowledge of advanced technology nodes (5nm/3nm) and multi-die design flows.
