Principal Avionics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Overseeing the formulation and development of spacecraft avionics architectures.

• Guiding technical decisions while offering expertise across various avionics disciplines.

• Establishing avionics requirements and ensuring they align with system-wide objectives.

• Assisting in the integration of onboard computing, communication, power management, and data handling systems.

• Coordinating avionics interfaces among multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Leading engineering trade studies, conducting risk assessments, and performing technical investigations.

• Aiding in verification, validation, qualification, and acceptance processes.

• Participating in design reviews and engaging in customer-oriented technical discussions.

• Mentoring and offering support to junior engineers within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in avionics engineering for spacecraft, satellites, launch systems, or other space platforms.

• In-depth knowledge of spacecraft avionics architectures and subsystem integration.

• Proven experience in leading technical initiatives within complex engineering programs.

• Familiarity with onboard data handling systems, flight computers, communication systems, and electrical architectures.

• Experience with requirements management and processes for verification and validation.

• Strong grasp of systems engineering principles and the complete product lifecycle development.

• Experience in managing technical interfaces across diverse teams.

• Capability to produce and review high-quality technical documentation.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
