Principal Application Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and validate functional requirements for Provider+, ensuring their completeness, accuracy, and testability.

• Take ownership of Provider+ functional requirements and lead discussions for validation and client review sessions.

• Maintain metadata related to requirements, dependencies, system components, configuration mapping, traceability, decisions, risks, issues, and gaps.

• Review and validate Business Process Models and manage the Business Rules Questionnaires.

• Oversee DEV environment readiness, conduct smoke testing, validate releases, and develop the Requirements Traceability Matrix.

• Plan and facilitate workshops for design and review sessions.

• Organize design demonstrations and client reviews, address feedback, and maintain Solution Design Documents, Configuration Workbooks, and design artifacts.

• Lead the planning and execution of Provider+ configurations for enrollment, maintenance, revalidation, and related processes.

• Validate outcomes of unit testing, coordinate client-facing build demonstrations, and govern changes in configuration.

• Review SIT test cases and provide expert support for Provider+ functional matters.

• Assist in defect investigations, root-cause analyses, resolutions, and tracking functional gaps.

• Offer functional SME support during UAT, addressing user inquiries, validating training, resolving defects, retesting, and finalizing issue dispositions.

• Support operational readiness, conduct client ORR reviews, manage parallel and performance testing, plan cutover, and transition to operations.

• Ensure end-to-end traceability from requirements through testing and manage domain-level RAID logs, decisions, and action items.

• Collaborate across Product, AD&I, Training, Testing, and Technical teams.

• Assist in knowledge transfer, develop SOPs, and prepare for hypercare readiness.

• Act as the primary functional authority for the Provider+ domain from project initiation through go-live and stabilization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of ten years of experience in application architecture and/or product development.

• Familiarity with architecture framework methodologies like TOGAF.

• Experience with software systems, applications, and their supporting infrastructure.

• Knowledge of application design principles and product configurations.

• Understanding of programming languages, databases, tooling, operating systems, infrastructure, and relevant cloud technologies.

• Comprehension of software development lifecycles and client requirements.

• Leadership capabilities to guide and mentor less experienced team members.

• Strong communication skills with customers, support teams, application development staff, and management.

• Preferably possess Enterprise Architecture experience in a healthcare setting.

• Experience in driving Enterprise Architecture initiatives for large state and federal accounts is preferred.

• Ability to create technical roadmaps, architecture diagrams, and supporting documentation.

• Experience in conducting technical research, testing, and evaluation of complex IT systems.

• Understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile.
