Principal AI Architect – AskOle

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and architecture of an advanced conversational AI platform that replaces conventional search methods with intelligent dialogue.

• Take ownership of systems that comprehend user intent, identify necessary information, source data from various real-time providers, analyze competing options, and generate conversational replies that guide users from discovery to transaction.

• Architect the AI orchestration layer that coordinates multiple large language models, specialized agents, retrieval systems, recommendation engines, and external APIs.

• Collect and prioritize information from ticketing providers, hotels, airlines, restaurants, transportation services, mapping platforms, weather services, and other third-party data sources.

• Develop systems for multi-step task planning, conversational context management, tool execution, result ranking, and adjustments based on user input.

• Establish the technical vision and architectural standards.

• Assess emerging AI technologies.

• Mentor senior engineers, architects, and principal engineers.

• Make strategic long-term decisions regarding LLM strategies, retrieval architecture, agent design, memory management, semantic search, vector databases, knowledge graphs, and AI evaluation frameworks.

• Collaborate with Principal Architects on backend infrastructure, payments, blockchain, messaging, mini-programs, and platform services.

• Guarantee seamless integration within the ecosystem, focusing on scalability, reliability, performance, and user experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record in architecting and deploying production-scale AI platforms utilized by a large user base.

• Demonstrated leadership experience as a Principal Engineer, Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer, or in a comparable senior technical position.

• Profound knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, multi-agent systems, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search, and contemporary AI orchestration frameworks.

• Strong grasp of recommendation engines, ranking algorithms, personalization, and conversational AI.

• Extensive experience in designing distributed, cloud-native systems that operate globally with high availability and low latency.

• Practical experience in integrating complex third-party APIs and developing systems that unify various real-time data sources into a cohesive experience.

• Outstanding architectural judgment, capable of simplifying intricate technical challenges into scalable, maintainable solutions.

• Proven ability to lead senior engineering teams, mentor architects and principal engineers, set engineering standards, and make long-term technical decisions.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product teams, and executive leadership.

• Entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for creating category-defining products.

• History of delivering ambitious, innovative products rather than merely maintaining existing platforms.

• A creative problem solver who can advocate for and support new ideas.

• Capacity to adapt and work with a diverse range of technologies.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and the challenges of a rapidly growing early-stage technology company.

• Knowledge of football and international sports is a significant advantage.

• Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, open-source language models, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, DSPy, vector databases, graph databases, and modern AI infrastructure is highly desirable.
