Principal Actuary

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the accounting operations function and lead initiatives in accounting.

• Oversee monthly and yearly closing processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, ad-hoc analyses, trial balance reviews, international consolidation, and preparation of financial statements.

• Propel process enhancements and accounting transformation by utilizing AI to minimize manual tasks, reduce errors, and increase efficiency.

• Ensure that financial records and reports adhere to company policies and GAAP, including accrual basis and ASC 606 standards.

• Conduct analysis of monthly operating results.

• Supervise payroll, billing, client invoicing, and collections activities.

• Lead annual financial audits and 401(k) audits.

• Coordinate the preparation of annual tax returns and supporting documentation.

• Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations.

• Establish and uphold internal controls, policies, and procedures.

• Enforce the expense reimbursement policy.

• Oversee processes related to sales commissions, bonuses, and partner commissions.

• Manage, recruit, and train the accounting team.

• Provide insightful guidance on emerging trends in accounting.

• Review accounting and financial management systems, implementing necessary changes as needed.

• Support the annual budgeting process, operating model analysis, and strategic financial decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting.

• At least 2 years of experience in public accounting is highly preferred.

• Proven experience in managing a small team of accounting professionals.

• Familiarity with leveraging AI to enhance accounting processes.

• Experience with NetSuite is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, SUMIF, pivot tables, and data analysis techniques.

• Strong analytical capabilities.

• Ability to juggle multiple projects at once.

• A proven track record in accounting with a desire to implement best practices in a fast-evolving environment.

• Excellent relationship management and business partner/advisory skills.

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.

• CPA designation is mandatory.
