Pricing Analyst IV – Change Order & Modifications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Collaborates with Operations, Business Development, and Functional Support teams to gather and develop data essential for pricing or other components of a cost/price volume.

• Analyzes the collected data and creates pricing models for medium to complex change orders or modification proposals with minimal oversight.

• Formulates and executes proposal strategies aimed at fulfilling company goals.

• Ensures adherence to the estimating system manual along with other relevant policies and procedures.

• Conducts quality assurance reviews to confirm that cost/price volume components are precise and meet solicitation requirements.

• Drafts cost narratives and fulfills any other cost/price volume obligations.

• Offers pricing guidance and support as needed to field personnel engaged in pricing-related tasks.

• Provides training, guidance, and mentorship to junior pricing team members while encouraging collaboration with senior pricing professionals to ensure best practices and optimal outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; two (2) years of experience in contracts or pricing may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of academic study.

• Typically requires eight (8) years of experience in cost proposal preparation or development; relevant finance experience may be considered for some years in place of cost proposal preparation and development; 5 years of experience with a Master’s degree.

• Understanding of proposal development and strategy, including contract cost and pricing principles that aid in securing new and follow-on business.

• Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-volume proposal environment with rapid turnaround requirements while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

• Proven capacity to work efficiently under multiple deadlines and shifting priorities to produce a significant volume of high-quality materials with meticulous attention to detail.

• Outstanding organizational abilities with the capability to manage numerous tasks and priorities effectively, while delivering polished and professional-quality work products.

• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

• Working knowledge of the U.S. Government structure and agency acquisition procedures and policies for identifying and developing potential business opportunities.

• Extensive understanding of the components of basis of estimates and bills of materials.

• A data-driven and continuous learning approach—candidates should exhibit curiosity, adaptability, and the capacity to quickly learn new technologies, including leveraging AI to automate repetitive tasks, synthesize information, enhance communication, and expedite problem-solving while maintaining human judgment and accountability.

• Capability to assess and apply emerging technologies—candidates should feel at ease evaluating new AI-enabled tools and processes, identifying practical use cases, validating outputs, understanding limitations and risks, and responsibly integrating AI into everyday work.

• Proven AI fluency and workflow integration—candidates should have experience utilizing AI tools to improve workflows, productivity, decision-making, customer experiences, business outcomes, or operational efficiency.

• Advanced skills in Excel and mathematics are required.

• Must effectively communicate with all organizational levels.

• Ability to review and compose pricing narrative responses.

• Must be capable of working extended hours, often with short notice, to meet deadlines.
