This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.
• Act as a technical leader and trusted consultant for State Government and Higher Education clients across Kentucky.
• Cultivate relationships with network engineers, architects, IT leaders, and executive management.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to formulate account strategies and drive opportunities to successful closure and adoption.
• Conduct technical discovery and convert customer requirements into solution architectures within the HPE Networking portfolio.
• Illustrate how AI-native networking and self-driving networks can simplify operations, enhance user experience, fortify security, and boost resiliency.
• Present to customers through presentations, demonstrations, whiteboarding sessions, workshops, POCs, and technical assessments.
• Position HPE Networking solutions against competitors, highlighting technical distinctions and customer value.
• Work in partnership with channel partners and internal specialists on RFPs and complex technical engagements.
• Continuously enhance knowledge of HPE Aruba Networking and HPE Juniper Networking technologies, industry trends, and emerging network architectures.
• Candidates must reside in Kentucky or be in reasonable proximity to the territory; those from nearby regions of Ohio or Indiana may also be considered.
• Must be willing to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in pre-sales engineering, systems engineering, network architecture, technical consulting, network engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong foundational knowledge in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.
• Experience with enterprise routing, switching, wireless, and network security technologies.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, supporting, or positioning enterprise networking solutions.
• Capability to lead technical discovery and translate requirements into actionable solution architectures and business results.
• Excellent customer-facing communication, presentation, demonstration, and whiteboarding abilities.
• Preferred knowledge of cloud-managed networking, SD-WAN, data center networking, network automation, and AI-driven operations.
• Strong problem-solving skills accompanied by intellectual curiosity.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with sales teams, customers, partners, and internal technical resources.
• A customer-first mindset characterized by strong ownership, accountability, urgency, and follow-through.
• Experience with Higher Education, State Government, or other public-sector clients is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Industry certifications from Aruba, Juniper, HPE, Cisco, or other relevant networking vendors are preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
