This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Install, splice, terminate, and uphold both overhead and underground power cables, vaults, conduits, and associated equipment.
• Execute troubleshooting, fault identification, and repairs on distribution systems.
• Utilize and maintain specialized tools and equipment such as cable pulling rigs, fault locators, splicing kits, and testing instruments.
• Carry out switching and grounding of high-voltage equipment in accordance with utility safety standards and established work procedures.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, single-line diagrams, and underground cable maps.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, utility codes, and company standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and fellow crew members to complete projects efficiently.
• Respond to emergency outages and carry out restoration work promptly.
• Keep precise records of work completed, materials utilized, and test results.
• Journeyperson Powerline Technician Certification.
• Demonstrated experience with power distribution systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, powerline construction practices, and safety protocols.
• Skilled in the use of locating, splicing, and testing equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Capacity to be on-call and respond to emergency situations as needed.
