This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
β’ Offer engineering and design assistance to Project Engineers on both new installation and retrofit projects for various clients, including models, calculations, drawings, and preparation of deliverables.
β’ Develop and maintain power system models using ETAP, SKM Power*Tools, and EasyPower under the guidance of senior engineers.
β’ Conduct short circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash calculations in accordance with IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E standards.
β’ Travel to client locations to gather equipment data and ensure the accuracy of one-line diagrams, including energized data collection in compliance with NFPA 70E procedures while using appropriate PPE and training (5-15% travel required).
β’ Create and update one-line diagrams, schematics, and design drawings utilizing AutoCAD.
β’ Prepare study reports and arc flash labels for review by senior personnel.
β’ Engage in internal training on power system fundamentals, study methodologies, and electrical safety protocols.
β’ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, with a preference for power systems coursework.
β’ Experience ranging from zero to two years is acceptable; internships and co-op positions in power or industrial environments are recognized.
β’ Passing or scheduled completion of the FE exam is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with ETAP, SKM Power*Tools, or EasyPower is advantageous; working knowledge of AutoCAD is also beneficial.
β’ Strong understanding of three-phase power fundamentals, including per unit analysis, fault calculations, and basics of transformers and motors.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the discipline to document work thoroughly.
β’ Openness to working in industrial settings and adhering to site safety requirements.
β’ Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and capable of passing client background checks.
