This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a technical consultant for both internal and external clients to guarantee precise specifications and flawless designs.
• Keep updated files of current industry standards, such as ANSI, IEEE, ABS, USCG, DNV, NEMA, and IEC.
• Collaborate with account managers and internal stakeholders to define the technical scope for tested product offerings.
• Serve as a subject matter expert during RFQ and specification evaluations.
• Recognize technical risks, material limitations, and possible schedule effects.
• Create, document, and deliver value-engineered solutions based on drawings, specifications, and client needs.
• Assess project quotation packages for technical precision, clarity, and prompt delivery.
• Generate and review preliminary datasheets and finalize project datasheets prior to design initiation.
• Examine sales quotation letters for technical correctness, ratings, and tested product offerings.
• Liaise with United Laboratories regarding product offerings and testing requirements.
• Assist R&D products that necessitate type testing of new equipment.
• Partake in submittal drawing design evaluations to ensure compliance with industry and design standards, enabling UL label application.
• Complete special projects assigned by the supervisor.
• Serve as a technical intermediary between customers and engineering, estimating, and operations teams.
• Assess design ramifications on manufacturability, serviceability, and field support.
• Work collaboratively on standardized engineering processes, tools, and guidelines.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred.
• Over 5 years of experience in electrical power systems applications up to 38 kV.
• Experience in Marine, Heavy Industrial, or Oil & Gas sectors.
• Familiarity with switchgear, MCCs, generators, motors, power factor correction, circuit breakers, fuses, reclosers, transformers, protective relays, UPS and battery systems, VFDs, and automation systems.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NEMA, IEEE, IEC, UL/CSA, ABS, ANSI C37.1, and ANSI C37.2 standards.
• Strong practical knowledge of electrical power systems engineering, design tools, and production processes.
• Capability to independently identify, analyze, and resolve technical challenges.
• Comprehension of materials, production techniques, quality control, and cost factors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with project management, Salesforce CRM, and ERP/accounting systems.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interpret technical and regulatory documents and convey complex information effectively.
• Advanced mathematical skills, including statistical and algebraic problem-solving abilities.
