PostgreSQL Database Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and sustain PostgreSQL databases.

• Enhance database performance through query optimization, indexing, and tuning.

• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve database-related issues while providing solutions (using Prometheus, Zabbix).

• Collaborate with developers to ensure that the database design aligns with application requirements.

• Oversee database security, backup, and recovery processes.

• Work alongside other IT professionals to deploy database solutions.

• Support systems that are highly available in environments with constantly increasing workloads.

• Continuously update core knowledge and skills within the RDBMS domain.

• Contribute to and maintain documentation for the solutions implemented.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least one year of experience in RDBMS administration.

• Practical experience with Ansible/Terraform for cluster deployment and management.

• Proficiency in SQL query optimization, performance tuning, and monitoring.

• Experience in supporting high-load systems.

• Familiarity with configuring PostgreSQL for optimal performance patterns.

• Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with team members.

• B2+ level of English proficiency.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
