Point of Sale System Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Address and resolve issues reported by customers or third-party vendors.

• Oversee DynaTrace for monitoring transactional flows and server statuses.

• Administer support for the Automated Daily Purge cycle.

• Provide support for the Automated Daily RT Log Review Process.

• Facilitate support for Automated Daily Incoming Batch Processing.

• Manage support for Automated Daily Outgoing XML3 and Customer Account file processing.

• Control 70 servers through remote access or automated notification/task scheduling and scripting for server status and Java heap dumps.

• Coordinate and maintain SSL and security certificate management on IBM WebSphere and Apache.

• Assist with Outgoing/Incoming SFTP Transfer Requests involving external vendors.

• Support the deployment and upgrading of POS software through specialized WAS integrated software (WASADMIN).

• Aid the Financial Department in validating POS monthly and individual transactions, as well as weekly active open banking sessions for 1,030 tills.

• Manage the POS Shared Directory for all associated POS files for internal use.

• Support the monthly CRISP LINUX patching schedule across four environments.

• Assist with the monthly CRISP WINDOWS patching schedule across four environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a similar field.

• Five years of experience in DevOps engineering, cloud infrastructure, or cybersecurity, particularly within federal or VA IT environments.

• Eight years of experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

• Experience with IBM WebSphere Application.

• Familiarity with IBM MQ.

• Proficient in SQL and Powershell.

• Experience with Windows 2019 Server.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
