Plumber/Gas-fitter Journeyman

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Install and repair water lines utilizing PEX cutters, drills, screwdrivers, and crimping tools.

• Install, repair, and replace fixtures and appliances such as showers, toilets, urinals, sinks, hot water tanks, kitchen equipment, washers/dryers, dishwashers, furnaces, and air conditioning units.

• Employ forklifts, floor jacks, or dollies for transporting larger fixtures and appliances into buildings.

• Operate equipment including torches, crimpers, drills, hand tools, pipe benders, manometers, threading machines, grinders, metal snips, and shears.

• Utilize ABS/PVC glue, pipe dope, flux, and paint for sealing and appliance installation.

• Adhere to the Gas Code and Plumbing Code in all work performed.

• Obtain gas permits as necessary.

• Load, unload, and transport materials to designated work areas.

• Ensure site equipment is well-maintained and in good working condition.

• Collaborate with the Area Superintendent and Maintenance Planner on maintenance concerns and documentation.

• Uphold facility curb appeal, including highway signage.

• Clean and maintain both interior and exterior areas of the facility, along with tools, equipment, and work sites.

• Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.

• Interact with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of site systems.

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Perform additional duties as required that are related to the tasks described.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of a valid driver's license.

• Educational background typically equivalent to high school.

• Journeyman Certificate in Plumbing.

• Gas Fitter Technician certification.

• Minimum of 5 years of plumbing experience.

• Familiarity with relevant industry and company codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.

• Proficiency in operating all hand and power tools necessary for the trade.

• Demonstrated organizational, time-management, and decision-making abilities.

• Capacity to manage varying workloads and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Capability to safely and comfortably perform physical duties.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Commitment to the health and safety of oneself and colleagues.

• Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

• Compliance with company safety policies and procedures, and wearing required PPE during work hours is mandatory.
