PLC Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Engage with clients to ascertain their mechanical, electrical, and automation needs for extensive facility systems.

• Create PLC programs to manage HVAC and mechanical systems that support rigorously regulated data center environments.

• Execute client-requested modifications and updates to current PLC databases and control methodologies.

• Offer technical insights during client consultations and design evaluations.

• Assist field and commissioning teams during system initiation, troubleshooting, and validation processes.

• Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to guarantee the successful integration of equipment, controls, and sub-systems.

• Troubleshoot installation challenges during both static and dynamic commissioning of building automation and specialized systems.

• Identify and rectify system malfunctions within PLC logic, hardware, and communication networks.

• Record programming workflows, logic adjustments, and system configurations for project handover.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a PLC Programmer/Engineer.

• Proficient in Studio 5000 / Rockwell Automation software.

• Demonstrated experience in programming intricate chiller or boiler systems (central plants).

• Experience in developing redundancy strategies and programming redundant PLC controller managers.

• Strong organizational, task management, and documentation abilities.

• Capacity to excel in a fast-paced, highly collaborative engineering setting.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage tasks with minimal supervision.

• Willingness and capability to travel up to 25-30%, with potential for extended site assignments.

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Software, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

• Familiarity with Ignition SCADA, HMIs, or EPMS/BMS integrations.

• Experience in data center or hyperscale infrastructure.
