This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Contribute to the creation and upkeep of the Supabase Cloud service.
• Design and execute the global edge router platform for Supabase.
• Develop programmable, API-driven routing logic to dynamically direct customer traffic.
• Engage with DNS, WAF, IP networking, TLS termination, CDN integrations, and global load balancing.
• Establish observability through metrics, logs, latency measurements, traffic shaping, routing health monitoring, and failure mitigation.
• Enhance routing performance to minimize latency and boost reliability across cloud regions.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and product teams to incorporate networking solutions into the Supabase architecture.
• Refine system architecture to lower costs while maintaining security, reliability, and performance.
• Design CI/CD systems along with change and release management processes.
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and post-incident reviews for edge-related challenges.
• Address escalated support queries and identify and resolve systemic platform challenges.
• Over 5 years of experience in SRE/DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure.
• More than 4 years of experience in building and managing high-scale networking or edge infrastructure.
• Extensive knowledge of HTTP, TCP/IP, TLS certificate management, CDN internals, load balancing, and global routing.
• Proficient in using traffic proxies/routers such as Envoy, NGINX, HAProxy, Traefik, or similar self-developed systems.
• Experience in designing systems for high availability, failover, and real-time observability.
• Strong software engineering capabilities in Go.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills in distributed systems.
• Familiarity with IPv6, BGP, Anycast, or advanced routing protocols.
• Experience managing large deployments on AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar platforms.
• Comfortable with cloud networking primitives on AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar services.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools; Pulumi preferred, Terraform/CDK and others are acceptable.
• Experience participating in on-call rotations for large-scale production systems.
