Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Develop and take charge of the platform that underpins all operations at Spacelift - encompassing CI/CD, observability, and incident management.

• Enhance our code delivery process by minimizing friction, streamlining feedback loops, and reducing inconsistency.

• Fortify our Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and observability framework to provide improved signals for every team.

• Refine our on-call procedures by boosting alert quality, response times, and postmortem practices.

• Optimize platform costs and scaling performance across various workloads and regions.

• Take responsibility for the internal developer experience, from local development to production debugging.

• Continuously expand your knowledge in our area of challenges.

• You will build and manage it - participation in the on-call rotation is also expected.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in backend or platform engineering, including hands-on management of production systems.

• Proficiency in the Go programming language.

• Experience in creating or maintaining CI/CD pipelines, observability infrastructures, or tools aimed at developers.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like OpenTofu/Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation.

• Strong communication abilities.

• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

• A solid product-oriented mindset with the ability to think broadly.

• Emphasis on resolving issues rather than merely completing tasks.

• Bonus: Experience with Claude Code and optimization of Datadog PostgreSQL/Aurora.
