This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design tailored, high-performance WordPress themes, plugins, and solutions that are optimized for the WPVIP platform.
• Develop clean, modular PHP (8.x) leveraging OOP and SOLID principles to ensure maintainability and adherence to VIP standards.
• Foster collaboration with stakeholders through BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) to establish a mutual understanding.
• Implement and promote ATDD (Acceptance Test-Driven Development) and TDD (Test-Driven Development) practices to guarantee an executable comprehension of the intended behavior that guides development.
• Manage and enhance Continuous Delivery pipelines utilizing VIP-CLI and GitHub Actions, ensuring each commit is "deploy-ready" via automated linting, unit tests, and integration tests.
• Serve as a servant leader by eliminating technical obstacles and encouraging pair programming to disseminate testing best practices within the team.
• Actively identify technical debt and platform risks, taking the lead in refactoring code for improved testability and performance.
• Over 7 years of professional PHP experience, with in-depth knowledge of the WordPress VIP ecosystem.
• Testing Expertise: Demonstrated experience with testing frameworks (e.g., PHPUnit, Playwright, Behat, or Cypress) and a strong commitment to TDD/BDD methodologies.
• CI/CD Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of modern Continuous Delivery practices and WPVIP-specific deployment requirements.
• Full-Stack Proficiency: Strong expertise in React (Gutenberg), ES6+, and REST/GraphQL API integration.
• Performance & Security Tools: Significant experience with tools like PHPCS, New Relic, Query Monitor, WPScan, and K6/WebPageTest.
• Commitment to Engineering Excellence: Familiarity with BDD, ATDD, TDD, and CI/CD practices.
• Technical Leadership: Knowledge of WPVIP architecture and high-scale PHP.
