PHP Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of developers by planning their tasks, managing timelines, ensuring code quality, enhancing development processes, and mentoring engineers.

• Take charge of managing technical debt within owned services and assume responsibility for technology-related decisions.

• Spearhead initiatives to enhance backend performance, reliability, and scalability by applying best practices and utilizing modern technologies.

• Work closely with stakeholders, product managers, frontend developers, ML developers, and other teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

• Design, develop, and improve backend applications using PHP to support the eCarsTrade auction platform.

• Employ Docker for containerization and orchestration to ensure seamless deployment and scalability.

• Set up CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and delivery processes, ensuring quick and reliable releases.

• Maintain a customer-focused approach by delivering value-added features and enhancements that align with user needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of practical experience in PHP development.

• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.

• Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate team members, drive technical initiatives, and lead by example.

• Proficient in Docker for the containerization and deployment of applications.

• Experience in implementing and optimizing queues for the background processing of tasks.

• Comprehensive understanding of scaling principles for backend systems and infrastructure.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a passion for writing clean and efficient code.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration in a team setting.

• Proven history of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.

• Familiarity with CI/CD principles and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.

• Proficiency in both English and Russian is essential.
