PHP Full Stack Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kosovo.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design and practical implementation of scalable full-stack applications, RESTful APIs, backend services, and reusable frontend components utilizing PHP, Laravel, Node.js, and Vue.js.

• Take ownership of the entire software development lifecycle, from architecture and technical design through to implementation, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing production support.

• Enhance and maintain frontend and backend systems for optimal performance, scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.

• Partner with product owners, designers, QA engineers, and developers to effectively translate business objectives and user requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Provide technical leadership through direct coding, code reviews, architectural guidance, design discussions, mentoring, task breakdown, and the promotion of engineering best practices.

• Establish and maintain standards for technical excellence and production readiness, encompassing clean architecture, secure coding, resilient design, quality gates, release discipline, operational ownership, and pragmatic technical decision-making.

• Create and advance event-driven architectures and asynchronous integrations utilizing Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ.

• Enhance shared libraries, APIs, frontend foundations, developer tools, CI/CD workflows, and observability solutions.

• Advocate for responsible AI adoption throughout development and the software development lifecycle to enhance code quality, testing, documentation, productivity, and delivery predictability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical full-stack development experience.

• Strong proficiency in PHP and modern object-oriented application development.

• Extensive practical experience with Laravel, including service architecture, dependency injection, queues, events, caching, authentication, authorization, and API development.

• Significant experience with JavaScript and Node.js for backend services, integrations, tooling, or real-time application capabilities.

• Robust experience with Vue.js, modern JavaScript or TypeScript, component-based design, and state management.

• Comprehensive understanding of software design patterns, system architecture, RESTful APIs, web security, and scalability principles.

• Hands-on experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.

• Practical experience in designing event-driven and message-driven systems using Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ, including producers, consumers, queues, topics, retries, dead-letter handling, and idempotent processing.

• Familiarity with Docker, containerized development environments, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms; Kubernetes is preferred.

• Comfortable with automated unit, integration, API, frontend, and performance testing.

• Experience in building, operating, troubleshooting, and enhancing production-grade, high-traffic web applications.

• Strong emphasis on technical excellence, production readiness, observability, monitoring, alerting, and collaborative engineering practices.

• Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

• Excellent communicator and proactive team leader with an ownership-driven mindset.

• Capability to align engineers around technical direction, delivery priorities, and engineering quality.

• Experience with AI-assisted development practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
