PHP Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the tools utilized for Maps & Testing.

• Define, design, deliver, and optimize the internal tools and services relied upon by the Maps & Testing teams.

• Develop and sustain features in Laravel Nova and associated backend environments.

• Make architectural decisions, evolve data models, set caching boundaries, and allocate latency budgets effectively.

• Navigate seamlessly across the data layer.

• Consider performance, observability, and operational health as integral to the completion of tasks.

• Engage in the development of AI-driven features and pipelines.

• Transition across the technology stack as project demands require.

• Take full responsibility for your work, including what you implement, what you exclude, and the order of tasks.

• Offer meaningful code reviews and elevate design discussions when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–6 years of experience in developing production backend systems in PHP, preferably for a consumer product with significant scale.

• Proficient in PHP 8.5 Laravel, with practical experience in Laravel Nova.

• Familiarity with TypeScript, sufficient to implement a feature from start to finish when necessary.

• Expertise in relational data modeling at scale (MySQL, MariaDB, or Postgres).

• Proven experience in creating internal tools, APIs, or automation systems.

• Outcome-driven with a strong sense of ownership.

• Well-versed in the AI tools that are transforming the engineering landscape.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capable of self-management.
