This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver support during short-term, surge, and on-demand scenarios that arise from military requirements.
• Offer personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families.
• Conduct individual counseling sessions and consultations with commanders, providers, and staff.
• Organize briefings, presentations, classes, and workshops focused on personal financial management.
• Provide referral resources during and outside of counseling sessions.
• Collaborate with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program aligns with installation needs.
• Assist service members in creating spending plans for extended absences.
• Create and disseminate informational financial materials.
• Address requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Offer authorized virtual counseling through secure web-based chat, video communications, or secure video teleconferencing.
• Manage duty-to-warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocols.
• Communicate with leadership and engage in individual and group supervision.
• Share trends and issues impacting assigned installations.
• Participate in training, quality improvement committees, and other contract-related activities.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• An Associate degree combined with 4 years of experience may be considered in place of a Bachelor's degree.
• A high school diploma along with 6 years of experience may also be considered as a substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Proficiency in fluent English is necessary.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are required if specified by the contract.
• Capable of obtaining a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must successfully pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process.
• Possession of one of the following credentials: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) is mandatory.
• Must have over a thousand hours of experience in financial counseling.
• Skills to effectively use virtual counseling and electronic communication methods are essential.
• Compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, contractual, and internal policy requirements is required.
• A valid in-state driver's license is necessary.
