This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver support during short-term, surge, and on-demand scenarios arising from military requirements, such as post-deployment activities or replacing absent counselors.
• Offer personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families at military installations.
• Conduct individual counseling sessions and consultations with commanders, providers, staff, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate briefings, presentations, classes, seminars, and workshops centered on personal financial management.
• Provide referral resources beyond counseling sessions.
• Collaborate with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program remains within scope and addresses installation needs.
• Assist service members in creating spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute educational financial materials.
• Organize and promote Personal Financial Management classes and workshops throughout the military lifecycle.
• Offer age-appropriate classes or seminars upon request.
• Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication methods when authorized.
• Manage duty-to-warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocols.
• Communicate with leadership and engage in individual and group supervision.
• Share trends and issues impacting assigned installations.
• Participate in in-services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contractual activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• An Associate degree combined with 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• A high school diploma along with 6 years of experience may be accepted in place of a Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Proficient in English.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract.
• Capable of obtaining a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must successfully pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• Possess a valid in-state driver's license.
