This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Deliver personal financial services at designated military installations.
• Offer individualized financial counseling and guidance to military personnel and their families.
• Collaborate with commanders, providers, and staff.
• Conduct briefings, presentations, classes, and seminars.
• Supply referral resources outside of counseling sessions.
• Partner with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program aligns with installation needs and remains within its scope.
• Assist service members in developing spending plans for extended absences.
• Create and disseminate informational financial resources.
• Organize, promote, and conduct Personal Financial Management classes and workshops throughout the military lifecycle.
• Provide age-appropriate classes or seminars in response to requests.
• Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication methods, including web-based tools, secure online chat, video communications, and secure video teleconferencing when authorized.
• Manage duty-to-warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and engage in both individual and group supervision.
• Share insights about trends and issues at assigned installations.
• Participate in in-services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contract-related activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• An associate degree combined with 4 years of experience may be considered in place of a bachelor's degree.
• A high school diploma along with 6 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• At least 3 years of financial counseling experience is necessary.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract.
• Capable of obtaining a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must possess one of the following: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• A valid in-state driver's license is required.
