This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Provide coverage during short-term, surge, and on-demand situations arising from military requirements.
• Offer personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families at military installations.
• Conduct one-on-one counseling and consultations with commanders, providers, staff, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate briefings, presentations, classes, seminars, and workshops focused on personal financial management.
• Provide referral resources to participants as needed.
• Assist service members in creating spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and disseminate informational financial materials.
• Organize and promote Personal Financial Management classes and workshops throughout the military lifecycle.
• Address requests for age-appropriate classes and seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication modes, including web-based tools, secure online chat, video communications, and secure video teleconferencing when permitted.
• Manage duty-to-warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocols.
• Engage with leadership and participate in both individual and group supervision.
• Share trends and issues impacting assigned installations.
• Participate in in-service training, quality improvement committees, and other contract-related activities.
• Adhere to all applicable security, legal, regulatory, contractual, and internal policy requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• An associate degree combined with 4 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• A high school diploma along with 6 years of experience may also be considered instead of a bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling is required.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required if specified by the contract.
• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must successfully complete the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• One of the following certifications is required: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• A valid in-state driver's license is necessary.
