This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vermont.
• Provide coverage for short-term, surge, and on-demand situations that arise from military requirements.
• Offer personal financial counseling and management services to military service members and their families at military installations.
• Conduct individual counseling sessions, consultations, briefings, presentations, and referrals.
• Collaborate with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program aligns with installation needs and remains within scope.
• Assist service members in creating spending plans for prolonged absences.
• Develop and disseminate informational financial materials.
• Organize, promote, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes and workshops throughout the military lifecycle.
• Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication methods when authorized.
• Manage duty-to-warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and engage in individual and group supervision.
• Report trends and issues from assigned installations.
• Participate in in-services, training sessions, quality improvement committees, and other contract-related activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• An Associate degree coupled with 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• A high school diploma along with 6 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of 3 years of financial counseling experience is necessary.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish may be required based on the contract.
• Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Ability to pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process is required.
• Must possess one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• A valid in-state driver's license is required.
