This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• This role will provide support during short-term, surge, and on-demand situations arising from military requirements, such as post-deployment events or to fill in for counselors who are unavailable.
• Key responsibilities encompass a comprehensive range of personal financial counseling services for military service members and their families at military installations.
• Services offered include education and counseling related to financial matters, which may entail one-on-one sessions, consultations with a commander or another provider or staff member, delivering briefings and presentations, or offering referral resources outside the context of a counseling session.
• Collaborates closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program is delivered within its scope and meets the installation's needs.
• Delivers personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Aids service members in formulating a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops and distributes informative financial materials for service members and their families.
• Organizes, promotes, and conducts a diverse array of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops, covering topics throughout the military lifecycle, including, but not limited to, arrival at the first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and personal and career events as outlined in DoDI 1322.34.
• Responds to requests for classes or seminars tailored for specific age groups.
• Possesses the capability to effectively engage in virtual counseling or other electronic communication methods, such as web-based platforms, secure online chat, or video communications, including secure video teleconferencing as sponsored by the customer.
• Manages duty to warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) protocols.
• Engages with leadership and participates in regular individual and group supervision, sharing insights regarding trends and issues at the assigned installations.
• Participates in regular in-service training, quality improvement committees, or other contract-related activities as assigned or deemed appropriate.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• Applicants with an associate degree plus 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• Applicants with a high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of 3 years of financial counseling experience is required.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens and fluent in English.
• If contractually required, candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must successfully pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
