Per Diem Certified Medical Assistant, MA-C

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with RNs and healthcare providers at rural clinic locations, community centers, tribal health facilities, and other public health venues throughout the Olympic Peninsula.

• Prepare patients for appointments by taking vital signs and collecting health histories.

• Assist healthcare providers during patient visits and perform tasks within the Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) scope of practice.

• Accurately document patient visits in the electronic health record system.

• Provide education to patients and their families, connecting them with local health and social services.

• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with referrals and care coordination.

• Facilitate clinic setup, manage patient flow, and perform tear-down duties, including handling supplies and equipment.

• Support Bird's Eye Medical vaccination clinics in other areas of Washington as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential issued by the Washington State Department of Health.

• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

• Candidates should reside in the Lacey/Olympia area or on the Olympic Peninsula.

• Availability on weekends is preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation are necessary for travel to various clinic locations.

• Prior clinical or primary care experience is preferred; experience with injections is a plus.

• Must be capable of working with both pediatric and adult patient populations.

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds is required.

• Proficiency with mobile scheduling and electronic charting tools is necessary.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Mileage reimbursement at a rate of $0.76 per mile for clinics that are more than 40 miles from your residence.

• Overnight travel accommodations will be covered, including hotel stays.

• Per diem of $98 per day for overnight trips.
