This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Facilitate the implementation of culture, engagement, and people practices tailored to the business.
• Collaborate with regional HR personnel to support various business units/functions.
• Oversee employee relations, risk management, and workplace matters specific to the US.
• Act as a trusted advisor to management.
• Implement employee relations processes and adapt company-wide initiatives to the local business context.
• Take ownership of and manage comprehensive ER cases, encompassing performance issues, workplace disputes, investigations, and terminations.
• Collaborate with Legal and HR leadership on intricate or high-risk cases.
• Offer real-time support to managers regarding performance management and employee-related issues.
• Guide managers in consistently addressing various situations.
• Adapt company-wide engagement and culture strategies for execution at the business level.
• Work alongside business leaders to pinpoint engagement deficiencies.
• Assist in the implementation of essential HR programs.
• Stay informed about attrition trends and team dynamics.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in HR, People Partner roles, HR Business Partner, or Employee Relations (ER), with a proven track record in managing complex employee relations issues.
• Extensive experience in handling US-based ER cases, including performance challenges, workplace disputes, investigations, accommodations, and terminations.
• Solid understanding of US employment legislation, compliance standards, risk management, and employee relations best practices.
• Demonstrated capability to coach and guide managers through delicate employee situations with sound judgment, consistency, and discretion.
• Experience collaborating with Legal, HR leadership, business leaders, and regional HR teams on complex or high-risk personnel issues.
• Proven ability to identify trends, highlight organizational risks, and translate findings into actionable manager guidance or business strategies.
• Background in supporting the implementation of core people programs such as performance management, compensation cycles, engagement initiatives, and culture-building activities.
• Capacity to balance strategic insight with practical execution in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment.
• Strong skills in communication, documentation, problem solving, and stakeholder management.
• Experience in a distributed, multi-site, or global organization is preferred.
• Experience in a technology company or supporting technology client groups is strongly preferred.
