This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Maintain precise and current employee records within HRIS systems for both Canadian and US personnel.
• Assist in the onboarding and offboarding processes, which includes documentation, system setup, and overall coordination of onboarding activities.
• Generate HR documents such as employee verification letters and updates to policies.
• Address employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
• Ensure the organization’s adherence to federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations, alongside recommended best practices; review policies and practices to uphold compliance in Canada and the US.
• Aid in audits and fulfill reporting requirements.
• Monitor and manage work authorizations and visas.
• Process payroll for both US and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.
• Register with the necessary Provinces and States.
• Assist in benefits administration, including enrollments and changes.
• Serve as a liaison with benefits providers in both Canada and the US.
• Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and internal communication efforts.
• Help organize HR-related events.
• Foster an inclusive culture across different countries.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
• Experience in employee relations.
• Knowledge of payroll and tax regulations.
• Familiarity with a broad range of human resource practices, including compliance, leave management, benefits management, and vendor relationships.
• Ideally, possess strong knowledge of HR practices in both Canada and the US.
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to operate with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Comprehensive understanding of employment-related laws and regulations.
• Solid time management skills alongside a robust ability to prioritize workload.
