People Operations Lead

Posted Jun 19

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete employee relations process: Handle investigations, terminations, accommodations, and documentation promptly and calmly, ensuring legal defensibility and preventing issues from escalating.

• Develop clinician performance management frameworks: Create and implement playbooks, decision trees, and templates to resolve most performance issues without the involvement of the CEO or Head of Clinical Ops.

• Manage company-wide people systems: Take ownership of PEO administration, payroll coordination, benefits management, and policy documentation, ensuring seamless execution throughout all employee lifecycle events.

• Scale clinician lifecycle operations: Optimize onboarding, leaves of absence, exits, and role/status changes; collaborate with Clinical Ops and Provider Growth to support rapid expansion to **1,000+ clinicians**.

• Assist with compensation planning: Perform competitive market analysis, aid in the development of pay bands and raise frameworks, and ensure that compensation adjustments are implemented smoothly.

• Establish corporate people systems: Work closely with the CEO to create standardized processes for the corporate team, including onboarding/offboarding, performance management, and structured feedback.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess 6–10 years of experience in people operations or human resources within startup, consulting, or high-growth operational roles, with hands-on exposure to employee relations and pay/benefits management.

• First-principles thinker: Avoid defaulting to "HR best practices"—analyze the root causes of people challenges, distinguish between essential needs and nice-to-haves, and develop practical solutions tailored to the context.

• Design for scalability: Create processes capable of accommodating 1,000+ clinicians, considering edge cases, potential failure points, and handoff stages instead of one-off fixes.

• Sound judgment: Exercise good judgment in complex, high-stakes situations (performance issues, investigations, terminations); recognize when consistency is crucial and when flexibility is essential.

• High ownership: Highly organized and dependable; take full responsibility for the entire people ops landscape, ensuring nothing is overlooked, and escalate issues that pose significant legal, financial, or operational risks.

• Proactive mindset: Act swiftly to address people issues and clarify situations without creating downstream risks; comfortable with testing and iteration rather than striving for perfection from the outset.

• Hands-on with systems: Proficient in managing PEO administration, payroll coordination, compensation data in Excel, and creating trackers and formulas to uncover trends.

🏝️ Benefits

• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.

• Flexible work arrangements and remote work options.

• Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.

• Generous paid time off and holiday policies.
