This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +6 more states.
β’ Design and document the complete employee lifecycle from start to finish: onboarding, offboarding, transfers, promotions, and leaves, ensuring that every process has an assigned owner, a documented workflow, and a feedback mechanism.
β’ Identify areas where the People team and our HR Business Partners lose efficiency, redesign workflows to reclaim that time, and substantiate improvements with before-and-after metrics.
β’ Take ownership of our HRIS (Rippling) as the main system administrator: configure, integrate, and automate processes to eliminate manual, transactional tasks.
β’ Develop playbooks, templates, and self-service options that empower HR Business Partners and managers to manage operational tasks without needing to escalate issues.
β’ Implement a structured change management process for people systems and procedures: request, test, implement, and refine changes to avoid ad hoc modifications.
β’ Ensure compliance in People Operations: manage I-9 and E-Verify processes, state registrations, labor-law postings, policy updates, records management, and audit preparedness.
β’ Act as the escalation point for complicated employee situations that involve multiple systems.
β’ Measure the function's performance: establish baseline HR Business Partner administrative time, process cycle durations, manual steps, and system usage, and report on these metrics.
β’ Collaborate across departments with Total Rewards, Recruiting, Benefits, and People Data to ensure operational processes, systems, and employee experiences are aligned.
β’ 4 to 8 years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or a role focused on operational generalist tasks, preferably in a high-growth technology or SaaS environment.
β’ Experience with HRIS administration (familiarity with Rippling is an advantage; equivalent experience with Workday, BambooHR, or Personio is acceptable).
β’ Proficient in process design: capable of mapping workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and reconstructing them for enhanced efficiency.
β’ Possess an automation and tooling mindset: you build from foundational principles and are motivated to reduce manual work.
β’ Data literacy: able to extract, interpret, and act on operational metrics independently without relying on a data team for foundational insights.
β’ Basic understanding of multi-state US employment regulations.
β’ Exceptional written communication skills: capable of drafting process documentation that is easy for anyone to understand and follow.
β’ Strong operational discipline and judgment: attentive to detail and deadlines, with the discernment to know when to adhere to procedures and when to escalate issues.
β’ Nice to Have: Experience with HRIS implementation or full-cycle deployments. PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP certification. Background in multi-state or multi-entity operations. Experience enabling HR Business Partners in a partnership model.
β’ Flexible PTO: We provide non-accrual PTO along with 11 company holidays.
β’ Comprehensive health benefits plan at no cost to employees: covering Medical, Dental, Vision, and an HSA match.
β’ Family Leave: All employees are entitled to 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave. Birthing parents can access an additional 6-8 weeks for physical recovery.
β’ Fertility & Family Benefits: We have partnered with Maven, a full digital health benefit for starting and expanding families. Flock offers a $50,000 lifetime maximum benefit for eligible adoption, surrogacy, or fertility expenses.
β’ Spring Health: Access to a range of mental health benefits through Spring Health, including therapy, coaching, medication management, and personalized digital tools.
