People Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop, construct, and oversee scalable people-data models within the enterprise data warehouse.

• Convert approved business and product requirements into technical data specifications, structures, and reusable data assets.

• Create architecture patterns for dashboards, analytics products, scorecards, and sanctioned AI use cases.

• Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Team on source-data onboarding, engineering dependencies, release planning, and production implementation.

• Maintain technical documentation for data models, integrations, transformation logic, dependencies, and platform components.

• Identify and propose architecture, platform, and infrastructure investments for an AI-ready People Data platform.

• Implement automated data-quality monitoring, validation rules, reconciliation controls, and exception alerts.

• Execute and uphold end-to-end data lineage.

• Define and manage production support, incident management, and escalation procedures.

• Oversee platform health, pipeline performance, refresh reliability, and recurring failure patterns.

• Implement technical controls for access, privacy, confidentiality, retention, and sensitive-data handling.

• Collaborate with governance, Privacy, Legal, Security, HR Technology, and Enterprise Data stakeholders.

• Establish and preserve the governed data foundation for approved AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics use cases.

• Evaluate data readiness, reliability, documentation, representation, accessibility, and controls for AI use cases.

• Support the People Data AI Control Tower along with monitoring and traceability capabilities.

• Own the AI-readiness roadmap for the people data lake and drive the execution of technical solutions.

• Act as the technical authority for the People Data platform infrastructure roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of progressive experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture.

• Proficient in building production-grade data pipelines, models, integrations, and quality controls.

• Strong background in HR / People Data.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, information systems, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.

• Skills in SQL, Python, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and APIs.

• Experience with Azure Cloud, including ADF, Synapse, Blob Storage, and Data Lake.

• Familiarity with version control and automated testing.

• Knowledge of Databricks.

• Capability to proactively identify infrastructure and architecture needs while creating a forward-looking technical roadmap.

• Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English (B2 or C1/C2).

• Preferred experience with Workday data, Databricks or a similar cloud data ecosystem, and BI semantic models.

• Strong preference for experience in Workday, enterprise data warehouses, sensitive-data governance, or AI/ML data enablement.

• Requirement to use own laptop or PC.

• Arrangement as an independent contractor.
