Pediatric CDI Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct prompt evaluations of patient medical records to ensure they are accurate and thoroughly documented.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers and coders to guarantee that the medical chart accurately represents the patient's complexity.

• Assess assigned medical records to ensure complete and precise documentation of all pertinent diagnoses and procedures.

• Initiate and finalize queries when needed to ensure accurate data regarding the patient's inpatient or outpatient visit.

• Follow the guidelines established by ACDIS, AAPC, and AHIMA.

• Uphold strict confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Show a comprehensive understanding of healthcare business aspects, including DRG payer concerns, audit risks, documentation opportunities, quality metrics, and hierarchical condition categories.

• Collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management to fulfill the specific requirements of each assignment in line with core values.

• Proficiently utilize computer software tailored to the specific needs of the client.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical documentation integrity.

• Experience in Pediatric CDI, particularly in a Children's Hospital setting.

• A BSN degree, in addition to a valid RN license, is required.

• A current RN license or graduation from medical school with over 5 years of acute care experience is preferred.

• Strong analytical abilities to assess the medical record clinically.

• Capability to use a PC for medical record review and proficiency in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Effective communication skills with e4health management and clients.
