This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a key member of the actuarial team during client projects.

• Identify and evaluate significant risks related to reserving, pricing/underwriting, and reinsurance.

• Review rate filings that utilize complex models to ensure the reasonableness of the modeling approach and compliance with regulatory standards.

• Support audit teams in evaluating the appropriateness of financial statement accruals.

• Conduct original actuarial analyses.

• Review and evaluate the analyses performed by fellow actuaries.

• Coordinate with internal resources.

• Provide advice to the project team on possible solutions and strategies to achieve project objectives and fulfill client requirements.

• Document insights and conclusions.

• Communicate effectively with clients and cross-functional project teams.

• Ensure adherence to project budgets and timelines.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or Statistics.

• At least 5+ years of professional experience in a Property and Casualty insurance company, financial services, or consulting firm.

• Proficiency in reserving, pricing, ratemaking, and/or risk management.

• Preferred experience in public accounting, a Big 4 firm, or a consulting firm with regulatory consulting and/or audit support experience.

• ACAS, FCAS, or MAAA designations are preferred.

• Experience with personal lines, commercial lines, and reinsurance is preferred.

• Understanding of insurance rates and regulatory requirements related to reserve levels.

• Familiarity with predictive modeling using Python or R is advantageous.

• Proven problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in PC skills, including experience with software for creating presentations, spreadsheets, and project planning (including TeamMate, Access, Visual Basic, MS Excel, and other applications).

• Ability to engage with all levels of staff, including executives and senior management.

• Strong interpersonal, presentation, analytical, and statistical sampling skills.

• Excellent organizational capabilities and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and assignments.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Dynamic and adaptable personality with exceptional client service capabilities.

• A forward-thinking leader with a collaborative approach who can effectively consult with key stakeholders and be recognized as a valued resource.

• Must be self-driven and possess a sense of urgency.

• Skilled in team building and team development.

• Willingness to travel occasionally.
