This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate as a member of the actuarial team during client engagements

• Identify and evaluate major risks related to reserving, pricing/underwriting, and reinsurance

• Analyze rate filings that utilize intricate models to ensure the validity of the modeling approach and adherence to regulatory standards

• Support audit teams in evaluating the accuracy of financial statement accruals

• Conduct original actuarial analyses

• Review and evaluate the analyses performed by other actuaries

• Coordinate resources within the organization

• Provide guidance to the project team regarding potential solutions and strategies to achieve project objectives and satisfy client requirements

• Record observations and conclusions

• Communicate efficiently with clients and cross-functional project teams

• Comply with project budgets and timelines


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or Statistics

• At least 5+ years of professional experience in a Property and Casualty insurance company, financial services, or consulting firm

• Proficient in reserving, pricing, ratemaking, and/or risk management

• Experience in public accounting, Big 4, or consulting firms with regulatory consulting and/or audit support is preferred

• ACAS, FCAS, MAAA designations are preferred

• Background in personal lines, commercial lines, and reinsurance is advantageous

• Understanding of insurance rates and regulatory requirements for supporting reserve levels

• Experience in predictive modeling using Python or R is a plus

• Proven problem-solving abilities

• Proficient in PC skills, including experience with software for presentations, spreadsheets, and project planning (skills in TeamMate, Access, Visual Basic, MS Excel, and other applications)

• Ability to engage with all levels, including executives and senior management

• Strong interpersonal, presentation, analytical, and statistical sampling skills

• Excellent organizational skills with the capability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and assignments

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

• Dynamic and adaptable demeanor with exceptional client service abilities

• Forward-thinking leader with a collaborative focus who can consult effectively with key stakeholders and be recognized as a valued resource

• Must be self-driven and possess a sense of urgency

• Skilled in team building and development

• Willingness to travel occasionally
