This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.
• Accurately process routine payroll tax notices by following established procedures and utilizing knowledge-base resources.
• Escalate cases that fall outside of established scripted scenarios.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual tax compliance efforts by reviewing records and validating data.
• Prepare and submit payroll amendments along with supporting documentation based on client requests and audit results.
• Maintain well-organized documentation.
• Work collaboratively on cross-functional tax processing workflows while adhering to operational deadlines.
• Provide formal coaching to Tax Processors through structured training sessions and documented development plans.
• Represent the Payroll Tax Processing team during planning meetings with Product, Engineering, and Compliance teams.
• Identify and analyze systemic patterns in the team’s case queue.
• Suggest and assist in implementing enhancements to processes, tools, or products.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in payroll operations, payroll tax processing, accounting, or a similar field.
• Strong attention to detail and capability to work accurately in a high-volume setting.
• Proficient in accounting principles, financial reconciliation, and tax software applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to independently resolve complex tax notices, multi-jurisdictional issues, and penalty abatements.
• In-depth regulatory knowledge with minimal supervision required.
• Capacity to manage complex, unprecedented cases and identify root causes and resolution strategies.
• Experience in conducting payroll record compliance audits and spotting control gaps.
• Ability to convert ambiguous, high-stakes tax and compliance issues into clear recommendations.
• Comfortable with utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for daily responsibilities.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• A dedicated workspace near a router for a hardwired Ethernet connection is necessary.
• Minimum internet speed requirement of 15 Mbps download/10 Mbps upload.
• ISP latency should be under 50ms.
• Internet connection must not be satellite, mobile data/hotspot, P2P, or VPN.
• Proof of internet speed is required.
