This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +33 more states.
• Perform assigned payroll tax responsibilities, which include executing accurate payroll runs, reviewing output reports, filing taxes, processing payments, and providing compliance support across active jurisdictions.
• Investigate and resolve standard State and Federal payroll tax notices, referring complex cases to senior team members as needed.
• Compose written responses to agency notices, including supporting documentation, and ensure submissions are made by required deadlines.
• Prepare standard amended payroll tax returns, such as Form 941-X and its state equivalents, with assistance on complicated adjustments.
• Facilitate payroll correction processes by collecting error details, calculating quarterly tax ramifications, and maintaining audit documentation.
• Oversee personal work queue in alignment with SLA deadlines and thoroughly document each case.
• Recognize recurring issues and data trends, and communicate findings to senior staff.
• Assist in updating team documentation by identifying outdated SOPs and Knowledge Base articles, recommending necessary revisions.
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration with internal teams.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of customer service experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to type a minimum of 25 words per minute.
• Proficient with desktop computer systems and possess general knowledge of Windows-based systems.
• Preferred experience in customer service and/or sales.
• A college degree is preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be able to adhere to established procedures while delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with team members, supervisors, and support departments.
• Exceptional communication, listening, and analytical abilities.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Capacity to prioritize tasks and perform well under pressure.
• Open to feedback, adapting to evolving policies, and maintaining a structured schedule with varied shifts.
• Excellent critical thinking skills.
• Proactive in problem-solving.
• Must have a dedicated workspace near a router for a hardwired Ethernet connection.
• Internet speed must be at least 15 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload, with an ISP latency of under 50ms.
• Internet connection cannot be satellite, mobile data/hotspot, P2P, or VPN.
• Proof of internet speed is required.
