This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Act as the primary representative for SWBC PEO and the main point of contact for assigned clients and shared employees to meet customer service requirements.
• Accountable for all payroll functions for assigned employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing of multi-state payroll on weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly schedules.
• Maintains payroll-related accounts and executes multi-state payroll processing.
• Responsible for the reconciliation and accuracy of the payroll system.
• Prepares necessary forms, inputs data into the payroll system, calculates wages and deductions, and updates payroll records.
• Engages with clients to address payroll inquiries and resolve issues.
• Maintains and processes relevant records to support all payroll transactions, including changes in salary, deductions, terminations, and updates to personal information.
• Collaborates with clients to address payroll discrepancies and issues.
• Manages garnishment processing.
• Collects and ensures the accurate processing of new hire documentation and related paperwork within the payroll and timekeeping systems.
• Preserves W-4 and I-9 documents for all new client hires and manages E-Verify processing.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Advanced degree is a plus.
• At least three (3) years of experience in payroll processing, including garnishments, general deductions, and W-2 & I-9 maintenance.
• Depending on client payroll processing assignments, a minimum of three (3) years of experience specifically in auto dealership payroll processing, garnishments, general deductions, and W-2 & I-9 maintenance may be necessary.
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred.
• Familiarity with processing job-costed and certified payrolls.
• Understanding of time clock systems.
• Knowledge of the Department of Labor and Fair Labor Standards Act as it relates to payroll and overtime.
• Proficiency in personal computers and payroll database systems.
• Competence in managing routine payroll tasks and effectively communicating results.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Excellent listening skills with a keen attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to confidentiality.
• Self-motivated to excel in tasks using personal initiative.
