This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accurately process both on-cycle and off-cycle payroll adjustments.
• Calculate the gross-to-net effects, taxes, and deductions related to payroll adjustments.
• Enter, validate, and reconcile payroll modifications prior to payroll closure.
• Document and reconcile tips, service charges, and reimbursements.
• Implement taxable and non-taxable classifications in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Collaborate with Finance and Customer Success to address discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve W-2 suspensions and data inconsistencies.
• Analyze exception reports, identify underlying causes, and execute corrective measures.
• Maintain documentation of findings and uphold audit trails.
• Process employment verification requests through electronic means and scanned mail.
• Safeguard confidential records and ensure the protection of personal information.
• Adhere to and enhance payroll Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while proposing process improvements and tool enhancements.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and updates via Slack.
• Coordinate across departments to facilitate seamless payroll cycles.
• Practical experience with the company’s payroll platform (mandatory requirement).
• A minimum of 2 years of U.S. payroll processing experience in an hourly, high-volume, or comparable setting.
• Capability to compute payroll adjustments, including tips and reimbursements.
• Working knowledge of W-2 forms, withholding, and the distinctions between taxable and non-taxable reimbursements.
• Integrity and meticulous attention to detail when managing confidential information.
• Proficiency with payroll systems and spreadsheets, encompassing data validation, lookups, and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with U.S. payroll regulations and forms.
• Strong documentation practices.
• Comfort in using Slack for communication.
• Skills in problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and error detection.
• Organized, deadline-oriented, and dependable in high-volume work environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional context.
• Discretion when handling personally identifiable information (PII).
• A computer with a minimum of 8GB RAM and an Intel i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 processor or better.
• Internet speed of no less than 40MBPS.
• A headset with an extended noise-canceling microphone and a webcam.
• Access to a backup computer and internet connection.
• A quiet, dedicated workspace at home.
• A reliable internet connection.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.
