Payroll Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review and audit notifications of new hires and departures from DayForce to guarantee 100% accuracy of the data entered in the payroll system. Any necessary data corrections identified during the audit will be promptly communicated to Human Resources.

• Update employee payroll records by inputting changes to tax statuses and direct deposit information.

• Address employee inquiries related to payroll. Calculate compensation for contract personnel and manage off-cycle checks, including retroactive pay increases, final paychecks, and necessary corrections.

• Process involuntary deductions such as wage levies or garnishments, ensuring calculations and deductions adhere to the orders received.

• Respond to requests for employment verification.

• Complete union and certified payroll reports in a timely fashion.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Be aware of, comply with, and enforce all Company policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience working with payroll applications; DayForce payroll is preferred, or experience with other cloud-based payroll systems (UKG, ADP, Workday).

• Familiarity with applicable federal and state wage and tax laws, as well as compliance regulations related to payroll; union payroll experience is preferred.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to operate effectively and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Capability to prioritize tasks and resolve problems efficiently.

• Information must be handled with the utmost confidentiality.

• Ability to deliver a high level of customer service in a professional and tactful manner.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
