This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute comprehensive payroll processing for a designated group of hourly and salaried employees.
• Oversee wage and hour procedures, which include timekeeping reviews, handling exceptions, and making necessary corrections.
• Establish and maintain payroll records for new hires, job transfers, promotions, pay adjustments, leaves of absence, and terminations.
• Manage tax profiles, direct deposit arrangements, garnishments, and the accrual of PTO/Sick Time.
• Address payroll inquiries from employees and managers, escalating more complex issues as necessary.
• Process employment and wage verifications, garnishments, and related documentation.
• Conduct payroll audits and data validations, coordinating necessary corrections.
• Prepare, validate, and disseminate payroll reports and reconciliations.
• Assist with both internal and external audit requests.
• Facilitate quarter-end and year-end payroll activities, including W-2s, 1094/1095 forms, and T4s.
• Aid in GL reconciliation and payroll-related reporting in collaboration with the Finance team.
• Contribute to HRIS/payroll platform functionality, ensuring data integrity, integrations, testing, upgrades, and process enhancements.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR Systems, and various cross-functional teams on system configuration and documentation.
• Work together with external vendors to troubleshoot payroll-related issues.
• Maintain payroll procedures and documentation.
• Offer guidance and informal support to Payroll Coordinators.
• Safeguard confidential employee and company information while ensuring the integrity of payroll records.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Undertake special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Payroll Manager or senior HR leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 4 years of experience in payroll, HR, accounting, or a related field, with direct responsibility for payroll processing.
• Comprehensive knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour regulations, and payroll administration processes, including multi-state payroll.
• Required experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll/HRIS systems.
• Capability to analyze and validate payroll data effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of discretion when handling confidential information.
• Excellent customer service, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with employees, managers, and cross-functional business partners.
• Skill in prioritizing multiple responsibilities and meeting deadlines.
• Competence in identifying issues and escalating complex matters appropriately.
• Capacity to maintain accuracy while managing high transaction volumes and stringent payroll deadlines.
• Experience in supporting multi-state payroll environments is preferred.
• Canadian payroll experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with ADP Lyric is preferred.
• Experience with integrated timekeeping, benefits, and financial systems is preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with reporting tools such as ADP Reporting, Power BI, or Tableau is preferred.
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via digital platforms.
• Willingness to sit for extended periods at a desk and work on a computer.
