Payroll Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive U.S. and international payroll processing for various clients, including international payrolls handled via EOR providers.

• Act as the internal payroll expert, collaborating closely with HR and Accounting/Finance leads to enhance payroll operations across the client portfolio.

• Oversee payroll systems such as Gusto, Justworks, Rippling, ADP, TriNet, Deel, or comparable platforms.

• Ensure precise processing of wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.

• Manage compliance for multi-state payroll, including tax filings and year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s).

• Reconcile payroll reports, benefit invoices, and payroll-related general ledger accounts.

• Collaborate with accounting teams to facilitate month-end closing activities, including payroll accruals and associated reporting.

• Assist with payroll-related equity compensation processing, encompassing tax withholding and reporting for employee stock programs.

• Facilitate payroll setup and termination procedures for new hires and departing employees, including prorated pay, final pay, and payroll deductions.

• Coordinate payroll-related benefits deductions and guarantee accurate processing of employee and employer contributions for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans.

• Maintain payroll procedures, internal controls, and implement process improvements to support scalable payroll operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of U.S. payroll experience, including multi-state payroll management.

• In-depth understanding of payroll taxes, wage regulations, and compliance obligations.

• Proficiency in payroll systems (Gusto, Justworks, Rippling, Deel, Sequoia One, or similar).

• Advanced skills in Excel (lookups, pivots, data validation, reconciliation workflows).

• Demonstrated experience in payroll reconciliations and audit support.

• Experience in managing payroll operations across multiple clients, entities, or business units.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Experience in managing international payrolls through EOR platforms such as Deel or Remote.

• Exceptional organizational skills and effective client communication abilities.
