This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Take ownership of and actively facilitate payroll operations within a complex, multi-state, and multi-site setting.
• Oversee payroll processing, audits, reconciliations, approvals, funding coordination, corrections, off-cycle activities, as well as quarter-end and year-end procedures.
• Act as the primary escalation point for intricate payroll challenges, ensuring root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective measures.
• Develop and uphold payroll controls, documented procedures, audit processes, and accountability measures.
• Track payroll accuracy, exceptions, recurring errors, and operational risks; introduce sustainable corrective actions where necessary.
• Assist with payroll tax, deductions, earnings, and general ledger processes and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Finance and HR on payroll reporting, reconciliations, audits, and compliance obligations.
• Provide hands-on support for Dayforce Payroll and Workforce Management, including reporting, audits, troubleshooting, testing, and resolving issues.
• Ensure accurate data flow for time, schedules, pay policies, and Workforce Management into payroll.
• Assess Dayforce and WFM configuration challenges, coordinate modifications with Dayforce, and validate changes through testing.
• Manage the Dayforce Managed Payroll relationship, including escalations, service delivery, issue tracking, and accountability for resolution.
• Support enhancements in payroll and WFM, process improvements, testing, and future implementations or expansions.
• Champion payroll process standardization, automation, and the reduction of manual intervention.
• Identify recurring payroll issues and trends, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Seek opportunities to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and employee experience.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, site teams, and Dayforce to optimize end-to-end payroll processes and service delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and relevant experience equivalent to a degree.
• Over 7 years of progressive experience in payroll management.
• Proven experience in leading payroll operations and/or managing employees.
• Experience in handling complex, multi-state U.S. payroll within a multi-site organization.
• Experience in supporting payroll across various sites, legal entities, or business units.
• Practical experience with Dayforce Payroll and a working knowledge of Dayforce Workforce Management.
• Experience collaborating with managed payroll providers and ensuring vendors meet service delivery and issue resolution standards.
• Experience in vendor management and leading as well as developing staff.
• Strong background in payroll processing, auditing, reconciliation, controls, reporting, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Preferred: Experience with Dayforce Managed Payroll.
• Preferred: Experience in supporting payroll in a complex or rapidly changing organizational setting.
• Preferred: Background in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Preferred: Experience with payroll/WFM implementation, stabilization, or transformation.
• Preferred: Relevant payroll certification such as CPP, PCP, CPM, or similar credentials.
