Payroll Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Overseeing the weekly payroll processing for multiple companies and states.

• Managing certified payroll along with prevailing wage reporting requirements.

• Administering union payroll, including fringe benefit reporting and remittances.

• Conducting payroll audits and addressing discrepancies prior to finalizing payroll.

• Ensuring payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• Acting as the subject matter expert for Paylocity.

• Resolving payroll issues and enhancing payroll processes.

• Collaborating with HR, Finance, and Operations to guarantee payroll accuracy.

• Mentoring Payroll Specialists and providing technical guidance.

• Assisting the Payroll Manager and offering backup leadership as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in multi-state payroll.

• Proven experience in processing payroll for multiple legal entities.

• Strong understanding of certified payroll administration.

• Familiarity with prevailing wage compliance.

• Experience in administering union payroll and fringe benefit reporting.

• Proficient in payroll auditing and reconciliation.

• Experience with Paylocity or a similar payroll/HRIS platform.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Solid understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC certification is preferred.

• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related field.

• Experience in construction, industrial services, utilities, or other heavily regulated industries.

• Background in labor compliance reporting and government-funded projects.
