This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the complete payroll processing to ensure precision, punctuality, and adherence to regulations.
• Assess and verify new hires, terminations, changes in compensation, deductions, and timekeeping records.
• Conduct payroll reconciliations, generate reports, execute post-payroll audits, manage year-end tasks, prepare W-2s, handle tax submissions, and provide audit support.
• Investigate and resolve payroll concerns, employee questions, discrepancies, and compliance issues.
• Supervise accounts payable functions, which include processing invoices, obtaining approvals, matching purchase orders, maintaining vendor information, conducting payment runs, and resolving issues.
• Guarantee timely and precise payments in line with company policies, internal controls, and approval protocols.
• Assist with 1099 reporting, Sales & Use Tax reporting, escheatment tasks, and audits.
• Maintain payroll and accounts payable systems while collaborating with HR, Finance, and IT on system enhancements, integrations, testing, and process improvements.
• Ensure adherence to payroll, tax, accounting, and regulatory standards.
• Strengthen internal controls and enhance accuracy, efficiency, and service delivery.
• Manage inquiries from vendors and employees, ensuring the integrity of vendor records and payroll data.
• Supervise and mentor staff, delegate responsibilities, monitor performance, and facilitate training and procedural adherence.
• Provide daily operational guidance, escalate complex or high-risk issues, track performance metrics, and foster continuous improvement.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in payroll, with a focus on payroll processing, compliance, and resolution of issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in supervising staff or managing daily workflows is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with skills in VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and other reporting functionalities.
• Experience with Dayforce is required.
• Preferred experience in supporting accounts payable functions and payment processes.
• Strong understanding of payroll processing, payroll taxation, wage and hour regulations, and relevant federal, state, and local laws.
• Familiarity with accounts payable processes, payment controls, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong systems aptitude, including experience with HRIS/payroll systems, reporting, and process enhancements.
• Exceptional organizational and supervisory skills.
• Strong communication and customer service capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
