Payroll Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Ensure precise and timely processing of regular, off-cycle, and annual payroll.

• Calculate and manage complex payroll transactions, including FLSA calculations, incentive taxation, retroactive adjustments, reconciliations, mass-volume data loads, and bargaining payouts.

• Investigate, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate payroll issues.

• Provide expert technical support for payroll processing, calculation, and consulting.

• Communicate findings from research and analysis to senior leaders, associates, external agencies, and vendors.

• Create reports, analyze complex datasets, and deliver insights for business decisions and payroll efficiency.

• Audit data and identify issues that may impact payroll.

• Participate in periodic internal audits.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.

• Assist with system implementations, testing, and process enhancements.

• Lead payroll-related projects independently from start to finish.

• Drive efforts in process improvement and documentation.

• Serve as a payroll subject matter expert, providing guidance and training.

• Develop and communicate standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with federal and state laws.

• Maintain accurate payroll, employee, and timekeeping records.

• Review daily error reports and timekeeping audit reports, rectifying any erroneous records or entries.

• Communicate changes to business owners of upstream and downstream systems.

• Ensure correct tax and location assignments in payroll and timekeeping systems.

• Apply knowledge of ERISA, ACA, IRS, DOL, FLSA, compensation, and fringe benefit programs.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

• 1–3 years of payroll experience in a multi-state, high-volume setting.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.

• Extensive understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and accounting principles.

• Proficient in payroll software and systems, including advanced functionalities.

• Strong attention to detail for precise payroll calculations.

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with departments and addressing employee inquiries.

• Ability to analyze complex payroll issues and devise solutions.

• Commitment to upholding the confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.

• Preferred: previous experience with wage and hour regulations.

• Preferred: familiarity with ADP, UKG, Workday, and/or Oracle Fusion.

• Preferred: CPP or FPC certification.
