This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.
• Process bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls, final paychecks, retroactive adjustments, and special payments as required.
• Review and audit payroll transactions to guarantee accuracy and adherence to company policies and applicable laws.
• Examine employee timekeeping details, earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefit deductions for precision.
• Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process enhancements.
• Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, general ledger entries, and payroll-related account reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve payroll issues, including tax withholdings, garnishments, benefit deductions, and wage calculations.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with record retention mandates.
• Assist in payroll audits, including internal, external, and regulatory examinations.
• Oversee payroll tax reporting and aid in year-end processing tasks, such as W-2 preparation and reconciliation.
• Address unemployment claims, employment verification requests, and payroll inquiries.
• Support leave administration impacts on payroll, including workers’ compensation, disability, and leave of absence payments.
• Facilitate payroll system testing, upgrades, implementations, and process improvements.
• Develop and uphold payroll procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
• Generate and distribute payroll reports for management and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure adherence to wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and company policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in payroll processing and payroll analysis.
• Proven experience with California payroll processing is essential.
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing is preferred.
• Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Workday, Ceridian Dayforce, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll tax obligations.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Capability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to strict payroll deadlines.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred.
